How scheduling works. Lessons run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The schedule shifts week-to-week, so tell us your availability and we'll match you to the next open slot. If your preferred times are full we'll suggest you other available time slots and add you to a short waiting list.
How payment works. Lessons are pay-as-you-go; no monthly fees, no semester commitments. You pay at the end of each lesson, which books and reserves your slot for the following week. Cancellations with more than 24 hours' notice are free; less than 24 hours, or no-shows, are charged in full at the following lesson.
Simple, honest per-hour pricing.

Harmony

Songwriting
Melody writing, song evaluation, structural guidance, applying harmony to original material.
Technique
Sweep picking, alternate picking, hybrid picking, legato, harmonics, tapping.
Improvisation
Soloing over any changes, melodic phrasing, chordal soloing, voice leading.
Repertoire
Build a cohesive set of songs in your chosen style — for performance, recording or your own satisfaction.
Workshop topics are conceptual — most of the heavy lifting happens in your own practice time, with sessions used for direction, feedback and unblocking. Most students attend once every 2–4 weeks, or whenever a topic is ready to be worked through. One-to-one in our Sliema studio, paid in advance on booking.
How the workshop works
ADVANCED PLAYER WORKSHOP
Already playing? Take it further.
Our 1-on-1 Advanced Workshop is for experienced guitarists tackling conceptual material. The kind of work that's mostly done in your own practice space, with our teacher giving direction, feedback and structure. Less frequent than weekly lessons, fully tailored to what you want to crack.
MEET YOUR TEACHER
One teacher, one room, full attention.

Sasa is one of Malta’s most respected guitarists and the lead instructor at our Sliema studio. With over 30 years of experience, he possesses an incredible wealth of knowledge and every trick in the book.
His teaching style is patient and rooted in classic, old-school methods, encouraging focused, deliberate practice so that every skill is properly absorbed. Above all, lessons are built around the music you love. Whether you want to dive deep into blues (bends, phrasing, and feel), fingerpick folk songs, shred metal solos, or navigate jazz chord changes, Sasa tailors every lesson to your personal goals.
Beginners receive the same level of care and attention as advanced players, which is why so many of our students choose to study with him for years.

WHY SUN-SOUNDS
More than just a teacher and a studio.
01
A real music shop attached
Most teachers in Malta work alone in a spare room. We're a full music shop; many high quality instruments and pieces of gear right next door — so you can try guitars between lessons, swap strings on the way out, or get advice without an appointment during shop opening hours.
03
Buy-back guarantee
Buy a guitar from us, take lessons, and decide it's not your path? We'll buy that same guitar back from you within the year. We'd rather you started than worry about wasting money on the instrument.
05
Twelve years in Sliema
Sun-Sounds has been on Blanche Huber Street since 2014. The studio is built into a community of working musicians, weekend players and complete beginners — you're walking into something established, not a side hustle.
02
Try before you buy - or rent
No guitar yet? Rent one from us from €30 a day, keep it for a full week.. Beats committing to an instrument before you know for sure that you want to go through it.
04
Setup advice for students
Our workshop services hundreds of guitars every year. Students will be guided on how to get their instrument playing as best as it can — a buzzing fret or a dead pickup shouldn't be the reason you give up.
06
Walk-in convenient location
Central Sliema, a few minutes from the seafront and Tigné Point. Easy to reach by foot from St. Julian's, Gżira, Ta' Xbiex and Msida, with public transport and parking nearby.
