How scheduling works. Lessons run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (sometimes on Sundays too). The schedule shifts week-to-week, so tell us your availability and we'll match you to the next open slot. If your preferred times are full we'll suggest you other available time slots and add you to a short waiting list.
How payment works. Lessons are pay-as-you-go; no monthly fees, no semester commitments. You pay at the end of each lesson, which books and reserves your slot for the following week. Cancellations with more than 24 hours' notice are free; less than 24 hours, or no-shows, are charged in full at the following lesson.

If you'd like to work towards a graded piano exam, lessons can be structured entirely around your target board and grade. We prepare students for the three major boards used in Malta — covering technical exercises, set repertoire, sight-reading, scales and arpeggios, and aural tests.
Tell us your target grade and exam window when you book, and we'll work backwards from the exam date to plan the technical work, three pieces and supporting tests at the right pace. Most students sit their exams at Malta-based centres run by the boards.
Exam entry fees are paid directly to the board, not through us.
ABRSM
Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music
The most widely-recognised board internationally. Grades 1–8 plus diploma levels.
Trinity
Trinity College London
Flexible syllabus with more contemporary repertoire choices. Grades 1–8 plus diploma levels.
LCM
London College of Music
Practical and theory syllabuses with strong popular-music options at higher grades.
Theory
Music Theory grades
ABRSM Grade 5 theory (or equivalent) is required before sitting Grades 6–8 practical. We prepare students for it alongside practical lessons.
EXAM PREPARATION
ABRSM, Trinity, LCM — graded exam ready.
MEET YOUR TEACHER
One teacher, one piano, full attention.

Adla; our lead piano instructor, brings years of professional performance and teaching experience to every lesson. The approach is patient, structured and adapted to the music you want to play; whether that's Bach preludes, jazz standards, contemporary pop or working through a graded exam syllabus.
Beginners receive the same attention as advanced students. Children are taught with patience and clear pacing; adults are met without judgement about starting late. The aim is the same in both cases: you walk out of every lesson having learned something concrete and motivated to practise it.

WHY SUN-SOUNDS
More than just a teacher and a piano.
A real music shop attached
Most piano teachers in Malta work alone from a spare room. We're a full music shop — digital pianos, keyboards and accessories right next door — so you can try instruments after or before lessons, and get advice without an appointment.
Central Sliema — not a back room in Mosta
Most piano teachers in Malta operate from home in scattered locations. Our studio is in central Sliema, a few minutes from the seafront and Tigné Point, with easy access on foot from St. Julian's, Gżira and Msida and short transport from Valletta.
Exam preparation, not just lessons
Working towards an ABRSM, Trinity or LCM grade? We'll structure every lesson around your exam date — repertoire, scales, sight-reading and aural — so you walk in confident on the day.
Try a piano before you buy - or rent
Choosing your first home instrument is daunting. Come and play several models in the shop with no pressure — we'll help you work out what's right for your space, budget and goals. We also rent keyboards if you'd rather test the waters first.
Pay-as-you-go, no semester lock-in
Some music schools charge a full term upfront whether you attend or not. We charge per lesson, after the lesson — so you can take a break around exams, holidays or busy weeks at work without losing money.
Twelve years in Sliema
Sun-Sounds has been on Blanche Huber Street since 2014. The studio is part of a community of working musicians, weekend players, parents and students — you're walking into something established, not a side hustle.
