Renting for the weekend? Pay less per day.

One rate, up to seven days
One day's rate covers you for up to seven days. Rent it Friday, play all weekend, return it Wednesday — you've paid for a single day, not four. The longer you keep the gear within that week, the lower your daily cost really works out.
2/
Need it longer?
After seven days, the same day rate applies again for each extra week. No compounding surcharges, no hidden weekly fees — just the daily rate, repeated.

How the rate works. You pay the day rate once and the instrument is yours for up to seven days. To extend into a second week, you pay the same daily rate again - that's it. Self-collection, free
Pull up to our Sliema shop and load up. Pickup and return during shop opening hours, arranged when you book. This is what most of our customers choose — no delivery wait, no extra cost.

Delivery & setup
We drive over, set up, line-check, then collect and dismantle afterwards. Price varies by location and time of day — from €250 for standard greater-Sliema gigs in business hours.
A little home for music — since
2014.
Sun-Sounds opened on Blanche Huber Street in Sliema in 2014 and has been quietly running Malta's friendliest backline rental counter ever since. Half our renters are visitors who packed light and need gear waiting for them; the rest are local bands who need extra backline for a gig, a recording session or a one-off show.
Every piece of backline is owned, set up and maintained in-house by our own technicians, the same team that handles repairs and servicing on our workshop bench. Drums are tuned, amps are serviced, and everything is tested so it's stage-ready the moment it's loaded into the van.

The things to know.

Booking is by the day. A "day" is one calendar day; pickup and return windows agreed when you book.

Payment is upfront before the gear leaves our shop — by Revolut, bank transfer or cash.

Deposit: a refundable security deposit of €500 is required on backline hires, or your ID card left with us as an alternative. Returned in full when gear is returned undamaged.

You are responsible for the equipment from the moment it leaves the shop until it's back with us. Loss or damage is charged against the deposit.

Cancellations more than 48 hours ahead are free. Inside 48 hours, 50% is retained; inside 24 hours or no-shows, the full booking is charged.

Self-collection vehicle: bring a vehicle big enough for the gear. A drum kit needs at least an estate car or van — let us know and we'll advise.

Delivery rates are quoted per booking based on venue, day and time. The published "from €250" reflects standard greater-Sliema gigs in business hours.
