It has superb playability and sound due to its highly selected materials. The wide rounded neck profile is comfortable as can be, and affords the player effortless maneuverability up and down the length of the beautifully variegated rosewood fingerboard. The hide-glue construction ensures that the set-neck solid wood construction is as resonant as possible, and the heavily aged look is extremely well-done, give this piece looks that are as in-your-face as it’s tone. It comes professionally setup and inspected, ready to rock right out of the case.

Cosmetic condition: Expertly relic’d, and heavily aged, with all kinds of recreated player’s wear throughout the instrument. Abundant finish checking and wear, along with dents, dings, scratches, nicks, and scuffs. Much of the back of the neck has been sanded down to simulate extended playwear. This piece has all the looks and flair of a vintage piece, with the reliability of a modern instrument. The frets don't have any wear to them even though it was used for two years its previous owner was a soft player.

Body: Solid mahogany body with bound flamed maple cap in sunburst finish. Tune-O-Matic bridge and chrome stopbar tailpiece with white pickguard and pickup bezels.

Weight: 8 lb, 13.1 oz

Neck: Fat rounded-C mahogany neck with red side dots and pearloid trapezoid inlays. Bound rosewood fingerboard is in marvelous shape, and frets show almost no visible wear at all. 1 11/16” nut width, 24 3/4" scale length. Kluson Deluxe reproduction tuners are in perfect working condition. Neck is straight and truss rod functions as it should.

Electronics: Dual Custom Wound humbuckers (Neck-7.75K ohms, Bridge-7.75K ohms) with 3-way pickup selector switch and gold tophat knobs, 2x tone, 2x volume. Historic Spec Bumble Bee Capacitors, and CTS potentiometers. Burstbucker pickups deliver vintage PAF tone. Gibson Custom paid just as much attention to the 1959 Reissue Les Paul's electronics as they did to its aesthetics. Beginning with vintage CTS potentiometers and bumble bee capacitors, every part of its internal signal path is designed to give you absolutely dead-on '59 Les Paul tone. Of course, it's next to impossible to find genuine '50s PAFs (even for Gibson). Instead, the 1959 Reissue Les Paul sports a pair of Gibson's Burstbucker Alnico II humbuckers with historically unmatched bobbin windings. You just won't find another Les Paul that comes as close to the original look, sound, and feel of a '59 Les Paul Standard!

Case: Original hard shell case included, along with Certificate of Authenticity.

The original '59 Les Paul Standard guitar established the Les Paul as a staple of the rock-music world. Although Gibson only shipped about 640 Les Paul Standards in 1959, by the mid '60s, their new slimmer profile neck and transparent finish (a major departure from the Goldtop) caught the attention of a whole new generation of musicians. When you pick up a Gibson Custom 1959 Reissue Les Paul, you can imagine how Keith Richards or Eric Clapton felt, trekking through a whole new territory of undiscovered tone.

Historically accurate details
To revive the very essence of the original '59 Les Paul Standard guitar, Gibson Custom spared no expense, painstakingly recreating each part of the 1959 Reissue Les Paul piece by piece. The original non-weight-relieved mahogany body, hand-carved and bookmatched maple top, and holly-head veneer headstock are only the beginning. The accuracy of the details go all the way down to the straight-line positioning of the 1959 Reissue Les Paul's vintage-style tulip tuners, the size and shape of the acrylic trapezoid block inlays, and the '50-style long neck tenon joint. If you hold the Gibson Custom 1959 Reissue Les Paul up to the original, you'd be more than hard pressed to tell them apart.
