Gibson SG Standard | 2007

Gibson SG Standard | 2007

Here we’re glancing at a Gibson Batwing SG Standard, in a natural tree shelter. Built in the Gibson Nashville plant and dating back to 2007. Construction is typical Gibson SG with the Standard trimmings and a slim SG neck. The body is a Mahogany slab with a double cutaway design and edge contours, Mahogany neck with a bound Rosewood fingerboard. This guitar has been pre-loved, it has some slight marks of use but nothing that does not add to its beauty. No fret buzz or any serious fret dents, the D and G string machine heads are slightly bent but work just fine. It also comes with the original black Gibson hard case with a white furry interior.

The action is set nice and low making is ready to rock for anyone wanting to come by and try it out .. The Gibson Batwing SG made its debut in 1966, with an extended pickguard covering the top above, between and below the strings, and also supporting the pickups. These were produced until 1971, at which point the SG Deluxe replaced it.

The SG has been used by many players over the years, and the Gibson Batwing SG is very frequently seen in the hands of the great Angus Young of AC/DC. The large ‘batwing’ pickguard is well suited to an active playing style. It offers significant protection to the finish. And, incidentally, much easier pickup and electronic maintenance.
