Martin and Co D-X2E | 2024

Big Martin dreadnought tone, stage-ready electronics, and a build made to travel. This D-X2E comes from Martin's Remastered X Series, introduced in 2024, which brought a raft of upgrades to the range's playability, looks and electronics.

At its heart is a solid spruce top, giving the full, punchy and balanced voice Martin dreadnoughts are known for, and one that will keep opening up as it's played. The back and sides are Martin's figured mahogany pattern HPL, a hard-wearing laminate that stands up to humidity, temperature swings and the knocks of regular gigging far better than solid wood.

It's a genuinely easy guitar to play. The Performing Artist neck has a slim, comfortable profile with Martin's High-Performance Taper, and the Remastered design adds a thinner fingerboard with a gently bevelled comfort edge. The 1 3/4" nut width gives fingerpickers room to work without feeling wide for strummers. Scalloped X-bracing keeps the sound open and projecting, and a compensated TUSQ saddle helps intonation all the way up the neck.
Plug in and the Martin E-1 system delivers a natural amplified sound. Volume and tone controls sit neatly inside the soundhole, alongside a phase switch for taming feedback on stage and a built-in chromatic tuner that mutes the output for silent tuning between songs.

It looks the part too, with a mother-of-pearl pattern rosette and fingerboard inlays, tortoise pickguard, satin tuners, and a headplate that matches the mahogany pattern of the back and sides.

Condition: Pre-owned and in excellent condition, with clean top, back and sides. Supplied with the original Martin padded gig bag.
