Martin D-35 | 1977

INFO

Whoop Whoop, 1977 Martin & Co Guitars just landed at our Sun-Sounds Music shop in Sliema, Malta. Caught posing at the Capital City's Grand Harbour break water in Malta, we bring you an iconic guitar to be added to anyone's guitar collection. A jaw dropping sound and resonance which travels to your abdomen when holding the guitar on your lap. The energy is purely conductive. Feel free to come by our shop and try it out or message us for a shipping quote to your country.

This guitar has been around for a while and as you can imagine has marks of use, finish cracking, although nothing that effects its sound or that is deteriorating. Actually the condition is very good for its age. One noticable repair is a slight crack by the pickguard which was professionally fixed, quite a common issue with vintage Martin guitars were the pickguard keeps the wood from fully expanding / aging. The crack is barely noticable and is now fully secured from any further widening. The guitar comes along a Martin Gold plus under-saddle pickup and a fairly used SKB hard case.

Introduced as part of the new 35-series in 1965, the D-35 was similar to the D-28 in its use of Rosewood for its back and sides. Key differences between the two dreadnoughts include cosmetic styling and binding details, as well as the use of a three-piece back on the D-35. Like other Martins, a major point of differentiation for the D-35 came in 1969 when Martin began the transition from Brazilian to Indian Rosewood.
