Westbury Track IV Vintage Bass | 1980
So thrilled to have this wonderful rare bass guitar from 1980. That's 38 years on it already :) Westbury Track 4 Basses were made in Japan by Matsumoku, imported by Unicord Co. of Long Island, NY in limited runs for US distribution under their Univox/Westbury label and later made all its way to Malta.
The bass is all original and in great condition for its age. Inspired by the Norlin era Gibson Grabber/Ripper basses, the TRACK IV Bass features a 70s LP Jr style symmetrical double cutaway maple body, stylised German carve arched top, carved back, set maple neck, 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with white dot inlays, black head-stock overlay with Westbury logo and Triton "W" design, two-per-side tuners, fixed bridge with adjustable saddles, black pickguard, a pair of Precision Bass style pickups, three knobs (volume and tone blend), and nickel hardware. Antique walnut finish.
The only flaw it carries is that one of the string holders at the string has widened slightly and does not hold the string as good so its previous owner came up with the idea to place a washer to hold it from going through. The bass has some belt marks at the back and other marks of use at the instrument. The frets have ample life in them. The Westbury Track IV Bass was only manufactured between 1978 - 1981. Complete with OHSC.
A great overall bass with incredible rocking tones, awesome and uniqueness at the peak levels. Reasonable price for a collectible piece.
