Gibson SG Special | Pewter Silver Stain | 2001
Here we caught this rare Silver Satin SG Special chilling in one of the narrow roads of the Silent City, Mdina. This Gibson was made at the Nashville Plant, Tennessee, USA on September 23rd of 2001. A true players guitar, with fair amount of dings and wear, nevertheless it plays amazingly. Hard to find Silver Satin finish, with Seymour Duncan upgraded pickups.
The Gibson SG is a classic guitar which was introduced in 1961 as a cheaper version of the Les Paul. It has not really changed much over the years, and to be honest I think they play a bit better / easier than the Les Paul models. They have never been as popular as Les Pauls, and everybody thinks you want to be Angus Young or Tony Iommi when they see you playing one. However now the story changed around. With every guitarist wanting one of these beauties in their collection. This one is one of those that would make some heads turn.
The neck is what makes this SG incredibly awesome, and they got the one on this one right that's for sure. The fretboard made out of a nice piece of rosewood, the frets have plenty of life in them, with no unwanted fret buzz. The action is nice and low, set with Daddario 10s . On top of that all it sounds amazing plugged in especially with the Seymour duncan Zebra pair it comes along with.
